In October and November 2016 I had the luck to travel with - and on initiative of - fellow photographer Jef Boes and journalist Koen Vidal to the United States. We travelled from Alabama to Washington DC, covering the 2016 presidential elections for the Belgian newspaper De Morgen. Being on the road with a camper we tried to get a sense of the Trump-voters. It was my first assignment abroad and as a rookie I learned a heck of a lot. Gosh, the memories!
